Happy Spring (Cleaning)!

Spring has officially arrived (even if the weather hasn’t where you live), and perhaps you’re thinking you’ll get some of that spring cleaning out of the way this weekend! Today marks week 4 of this series, and this week we will concentrate on cleaning and organizing the living room.! Check back every Friday for the newest post, and use the weekend to conquer that spring cleaning list!

The weather was gorgeous the when I started cleaning, so I opened our balcony door for some fresh air! I love doing this during spring cleaning, because it can help get rid of all the stale air from winter.

First, I started with cleaning the couch, so I took off all the cushions with the help of Neville! I hadn’t done this since we moved last summer, and it was much needed! My fiance is known for losing his socks in the couch, I think I found 3 pairs, plus a bunch of pens and pencils. After vacuuming the bottom of the couch, I vacuumed all the cushions, and pillows.

After replacing all the cushions, I spritz them with my favorite essential oil blend, eucalyptus and lavender!

Next, I went through all our magazines and catalogs. I threw away the old catalogs, donated some old magazines, and kept a few of my equestrian magazines because I really like to reference the articles.

Then, I dusted all the furniture, wiped the TV screen, wiped the light switches and lamps, and vacuumed the entire living room to finish up! My living room looks so much better now, and less cluttered! Plus, I kept the balcony door open for most of the day, which really helped brighten and freshen up our whole apartment!

I attempted to clean our ceiling fan, but my step stool is no where near tall enough for me to reach it.

Erica, this is a great idea, breaking down the spring cleaning room by room. It helps you get that deep clean without being overwhelmed.

Loved how you are spring cleaning – did you do this all in one day?

Where did you sell your old DVDs?

I did the living room last weekend, I’ve been breaking it down by room every weekend! I actually didn’t have any to sell this time, but I have sold them to Amazon or on Ebay. I love Amazon because they take care of everything. You don’t even have to pay shipping, and they give you a Amazon gift card as payment. http://www.amazon.com/Trade-In
